The present application provides a composition for preventing and treating cancer, comprising a Stewartia pseudocamellia extract as an active ingredient.

A method for preparing a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating cancer, the method comprising:
- preparing a Stewartia pseudocamellia extract;
- and
- inoculating the extract with a lactic acid bacteria culture solution and fermenting the extract to obtain a fermented product,
- wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises the fermented product as an active ingredient.
