Abstract
Disclosed herein are methods of preparing a botanical extract, the botanical extract including saponins, polyphenols, and xanthines. Also provided herein are compositions including a botanical extract, the compositions formulated as a powder, tablet, capsule, or liquid, and methods of improving or treating a metabolic condition by administering a composition.

A composition comprising:
- a botanical extract, comprising:
- at least 2.5% saponins;
- at least 20% polyphenols;
- and
- at least 4% xanthines,
- wherein the composition is formulated as a powder, tablet, capsule, or liquid.

A method of preparing a botanical extract, the method comprising:
- combining botanical leaves with a first solvent to form a first mixture;
- heating the first mixture;
- filtering the first mixture to obtain a first liquid extract and a first residual material;
- combining the first residual material with a second solvent to form a second mixture;
- heating the second mixture;
- filtering the second mixture to obtain a second liquid extract and a second residual material;
- and
- combining and concentrating the first liquid extract and second liquid extract to obtain the botanical extract.

A method of improving or treating a metabolic condition, comprising administering to a subject in need a composition comprising:
- a botanical extract, comprising:
- at least 2.5% saponins;
- at least 20% polyphenols;
