Tomm6-interacting extracts and compounds for use in the treatment and prophylaxis of nervous system diseases, atherosclerosis, hepatitis b infection and human papilloma virus (hpv) infection

A method for the therapeutic or prophylactic treatment of a disease, the method comprising the steps of:

• administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically or prophylactically effective amount of Translocase of Outer Membrane 6 kDa subunit homolog (TOMM6)-interacting compound or a composition comprising the same, wherein the TOMM6-interacting compound is a compound according to Formula (II):
• wherein:
• R2 to R6 are each independently selected from the group consisting of
• (i) H, Cl, Br, F, —CN, or —OH,
• (ii) —O(C1-10)alkyl or —O(C3-10)cycloalkyl,
• (iii) —O(C═O)(C1-10)alkyl, or —O(C═O)(C3-10)cycloalkyl,
• (iv) —COOH, —COO(C1-10)alkyl, —COO(C3-6)cycloalkyl, —COONH2, —COON((C1-10)alkyl)2, or —COONH(C1-10)alkyl,
• R7 is selected from the group consisting of:
• (i) NH2, NH(C1-10)alkyl, —OH, —O(C1-10)alkyl, or —CN;
• (ii) —COOH, —COO(C1-10)alkyl, —COO(C3-6)cycloalkyl, —COONH2, —COON((C1-10)alkyl)2, or —COONH(C1-10)alkyl;
• (iii) substituted or non-substituted carbocycle selected from the group consisting of (C3-10)carbocycle;
• and
• (iv) substituted or non-substituted (C3-6)heterocycle or (C7-10)carbo- or hetero-bicycle having 1 to 3 heteroatoms each independently selected from N, O and S;
• R8 is selected from the group consisting of —C(═O)NH2, —CN (instead of R8—CO), —C(═O)NH(C1-10)alkyl, —C(═O)OH, or —C(═O)O(C1-10)alkyl;
• R9 is selected from the group consisting of:
• (i) —H, -Me, -Et, halogen;
• (ii) —COOH, —COO(C1-10)alkyl, —COO(C3-6)cycloalkyl, —COONH2, —COON((C1-10)alkyl)2, or —COONH(C1-10)alkyl;
• (iii) —OH, —O(C1-10)alkyl, or —O(C3-10)cycloalkyl;
• (iv) substituted or non-substituted (C3-10)carbocycle,;
• and
• c is an integer between 0 and 4;
• and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof,
• wherein the disease is selected from the group consisting of:
• (a) a nervous system disease or disorder;
• (b) atherosclerosis;
• (c) Hepatitis B infection;
• and
• (d) human papilloma virus (HPV) infection.
