Abstract
Disclosed are methods for inhibiting the progression of neurodegenerative disease. The methods include administering to a patient suffering from such a disease a composition comprising either deuterated arachidonic acid or an ester thereof.

A kit of parts comprising a set of capsules each comprising a partial loading dose of a deuterated arachidonic acid or an ester thereof, such that two or more of said capsules comprise a complete loading dose per day.
A kit of parts comprising a set of capsules each comprising a partial maintenance dose of a deuterated arachidonic acid or an ester thereof, such that two or more of said capsules comprise a complete maintenance dose per day.
