Abstract
The present invention relates to a use of a composition comprising a compound of formula I, wherein R1 is an alkyl chain having 10-20 carbon atoms, R2 is an acyl having 16-34 carbon atoms, X is hydrogen, a glucosyl moiety or a lactosyl moiety for promoting hair growth or for preventing hair loss on skin of a subject.

A method for promoting hair growth on the skin of a subject, the method comprising administering to the subject's skin a composition comprising a compound of formula I
- wherein
- R1 is an alkyl chain having 10-20 carbon atoms,
- R2 is an acyl having 16-34 carbon atoms, and
- X is hydrogen, a glucosyl moiety, or a lactosyl moiety.
A method for reducing hair loss on the skin of a subject, the method comprising administering to the subject's skin a composition comprising a compound of formula I

- R1 is an alkyl chain having 10-20 carbon atoms,
- R2 is an acyl having 16-34 carbon atoms, and
- X is hydrogen, a glucosyl moiety, or a lactosyl moiety.
A method for activating a hair cycle on the skin of a subject, the method comprising administering to the subject's skin a composition comprising a compound of formula I
