Pivot mechanism of a foldable ramp for wheelchair access to a passenger car rear door

A foldable ramp for wheelchair access to a passenger car, the foldable ramp comprising:

• a platform configurable in a plurality of positions including an entry position wherein the platform is folded out of the passenger car to allow wheelchair access to the passenger car, a transport position wherein the platform is arranged in the passenger car in an upright position, and a passive position wherein the platform is arranged in the passenger car in a lying position;
• a pivot mechanism configured to pivot the platform between the transport position and the passive position about a pivot axis extending parallel to a width direction (W), wherein the pivot mechanism comprises guiding means for defining a trajectory of the pivot axis between the transport position and the passive position so that the platform, when moving between the transport position and the passive position, conducts a rotationally translational movement;
• and
• a biasing mechanism configured to act against a gravitation force of the platform when the platform moves between the passive position and a predefined angle between 30° and 85°,
• wherein the guiding means are configured to decouple the biasing mechanism from the platform when the platform moves between the predefined angle and the transport position.
