An ocular surface resurfacing system includes an amniotic tissue body that is laid onto a corneal surface of an eye and conforms to and fills one or more surface irregularities of the corneal surface to present a smooth ocular surface, and a securing element that retains the amniotic tissue body against the corneal surface. The amniotic tissue body may comprise a non-handed construction presenting equivalent amniotic tissue to the corneal surface independent of which face contacts the corneal surface, and may be retained by a native tackiness developed by removing moisture from the corneal surface without applying a saline. The corneal surface may be resurfaced without debriding the corneal surface, such that a corneal epithelium is preserved, to optimize the corneal surface for a biometric measurement or a corneal mapping obtained prior to an ocular surgery.
