Abstract
A method includes generating, based on patient-specific data, a checkpoint zone of a virtual bone model such that the checkpoint zone corresponds to checkpoint positions compliant with at least one constraint based on the patient-specific data. The method also includes guiding creation or installation of a checkpoint on a physical bone using the checkpoint zone of the virtual bone model, and validating registration of the virtual bone model to the physical bone using the checkpoint.
Claims20
A surgical method, comprising:
- generating, based on patient-specific data, a checkpoint zone of a virtual bone model such that the checkpoint zone corresponds to checkpoint positions compliant with at least one constraint based on the patient-specific data;
- guiding creation or installation of a checkpoint on a physical bone using the checkpoint zone of the virtual bone model;
- and
- validating registration of the virtual bone model to the physical bone using the checkpoint.
A surgical system, comprising:
- a robotic device;
- and
- circuitry programmed to:
- generate, based on patient-specific data, a checkpoint zone of a virtual bone model such that the checkpoint zone corresponds to checkpoint positions compliant with at least one constraint based on the patient-specific data;
- guide creation or installation of a checkpoint on a physical bone using the checkpoint zone of the virtual bone model;
- and
- validate registration of the virtual bone model to the physical bone using the checkpoint.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
- generating, based on patient-specific data, a checkpoint zone of a virtual bone model such that the checkpoint zone corresponds to checkpoint positions compliant with at least one constraint based on the patient-specific data;
- guiding creation or installation of a checkpoint on a physical bone using the checkpoint zone of the virtual bone model;
- and
- validating registration of the virtual bone model to the physical bone using the checkpoint.
