Abstract
Energy treatment systems and methods include a medical device with elongate bands having looped portions exposed distally, each of the elongate bands having electrodes extending longitudinally therealong. The systems and methods can include a drive assembly configured to move the bands relative to the housing to expand or retract the looped portions, and a control system operably coupled to the drive assembly.

An energy treatment medical device comprising:
- a housing;
- an elongate band having ends received within the housing and a looped intermediate portion disposed distally of the housing;
- and
- first and second electrodes spaced from one another along the elongate band, the first and second electrodes extending at least along the looped intermediate portion of the elongate band for energy treatment.

An energy treatment medical device comprising:
- a housing;
- a leadscrew received within the housing;
- a carriage rotatably coupled to the leadscrew and coupled with the housing, such that rotation of the leadscrew drives longitudinal movement of the carriage;
- and
- three elongate bands having electrodes extending longitudinally therealong, each elongate band having ends coupled to the carriage and a looped intermediate portion disposed distally of the housing, such that movement of the carriage causes expansion and retraction of the looped intermediate portions of the elongate bands.

An energy treatment medical device comprising:
- a housing;
- a drive assembly;
- a carriage coupled to the drive assembly, operation of the drive assembly configured to drive longitudinal movement of the carriage;
- three elongate bands having electrodes extending longitudinally therealong, each elongate band having ends coupled to the carriage and a looped intermediate portion disposed distally of the housing, such that movement of the carriage causes expansion and retraction of the looped intermediate portions of the elongate bands;
- a support shaft coupled to the drive assembly, the looped intermediate portions of the elongate bands coupled to an end of the support shaft, operational of the drive assembly configured to drive longitudinal movement of the support shaft to set an insertion depth for the elongate bands.
