Systems and methods for affecting a target tissue via a pulsed field

A system for delivering a dose of energy to a target tissue, comprising:

• a generator configured to generate the dose of energy, wherein the dose of energy comprises a plurality of monophasic pulses, each of the plurality of monophasic pulses comprising a plurality of peak intervals and a plurality of nadir intervals;
• and
• an electrode catheter electrically coupled to the generator and configured to deliver the dose of energy to the target tissue as a pulsed electric field,
• wherein the plurality of peak intervals comprises at least three peak intervals,
• wherein each nadir interval of the plurality of nadir intervals is disposed between adjacent peak intervals,
• wherein a duration of each nadir interval of a monophasic pulse of the plurality of monophasic pulses is between about 0.75 and 10 times a duration of each of the peak intervals of the monophasic pulse and less than a restitution interval associated with the target tissue, and
• wherein the pulsed electric field is configured to cause irreversible electroporation of the target tissue.

A system for delivering a dose of energy to a target tissue, comprising:

• a generator configured to generate the dose of energy, wherein the dose of energy comprises a plurality of monophasic pulses, each of the plurality of monophasic pulses comprising a plurality of peak intervals and a plurality of nadir intervals;
• and
• an electrode catheter electrically coupled to the generator and configured to deliver the dose of energy to the target tissue as a pulsed electric field,
• wherein the plurality of peak intervals comprises at least three peak intervals,
• wherein each nadir interval of the plurality of nadir intervals is disposed between adjacent peak intervals, and
• wherein a duration of each monophasic pulse is about 0.2 microseconds to about 20 microseconds.
