Systems and methods are provided for treating tissue in a nasal airway. In some embodiments, a method for treating tissue is provided that includes assessing one or more biomarker profiles in nasal tissue, the one or more biomarker profiles being indicative of rhinitis, advancing a treatment device into a nasal cavity of a patient, the treatment device including one or more treatment elements, the one or more treatment elements having an array of energy delivery elements disposed thereon, and providing treatment, based on the assessed biomarker profiles, to one or more target tissue areas in the nasal cavity by activating one or more of the energy delivery elements of the array of energy delivery elements. The one or more biomarker profiles relate to tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), choline acetyltransferase (ChAT), neuropeptide Y (NPY), calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), neurokinin A (NKA), neurokinin B (NKB), or substance-P (SP).
