Abstract
Methods and apparatus for providing data processing and control for use in a medical communication system are provided. Such methods and apparatus may include determining a glucose value in a bodily fluid based on an estimated glucose temperature related signal and the glucose related signal in the bodily fluid, wherein the glucose temperature related signal may be estimated based on the temperature of the skin or the ambient temperature.

A method for detecting an operational state of a glucose monitoring system, wherein the glucose monitoring system comprises a glucose sensor, the method comprising:
- receiving a first set of signals associated with a glucose level of a user monitored by the glucose sensor;
- receiving a second set of signals associated with a glucose level of the user monitored by the glucose sensor;
- determining, based on the first set of signals and the second set of signals, a transition of the received sets signals from either (a) below a first predetermined threshold level to above the first predetermined threshold level or (b) above a second predetermined threshold level to below the second predetermined threshold level;
- determining, based on the determined transition, a new operational state of the glucose monitoring system;
- and
- generating an output data associated with the new operational state.
A method for detecting an operational state of a glucose monitoring system, wherein the glucose monitoring system comprises a glucose sensor, the method comprising:
- receiving a first plurality of signals associated with a first glucose level rate of change of a user monitored by the glucose sensor;
- receiving a second plurality of signals associated with a second glucose level rate of change of the user monitored by the glucose sensor;
- determining, based on the first plurality of signals and the second plurality of signals, a transition of the received glucose level rate of change from either (a) below a predetermined threshold level rate of change to above the predetermined threshold level rate of change or (b) above the predetermined threshold level rate of change to below the predetermined threshold level rate of change;
- determining, based on the determined transition, a new operational state of the glucose monitoring system;
- and
- generating an output data associated with the new operational state.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a glucose monitoring system, causes the one or more processors to:
- receive a first set of signals associated with a glucose level of a user monitored by a glucose sensor of the glucose monitoring system;
- receive a second set of signals associated with a glucose level of the user monitored by the glucose sensor;
- determine, based on the first set of signals and the second set of signals, a transition of the received sets signals from either (a) below a first predetermined threshold level to above the first predetermined threshold level or (b) above a second predetermined threshold level to below the second predetermined threshold level;
- determine, based on the determined transition, a new operational state of the glucose monitoring system;
- and
- generate an output data associated with the new operational state.
