Display device, electronic device including the same, and driving method thereof

An electronic device comprising:

• a substrate;
• a first element layer located on one side of the substrate and including a pixel including a first light-emitting element and a photo sensor including a first light-receiving element;
• a second element layer located on another side of the substrate and including a second light-emitting element and a second light-receiving element;
• a data driving circuit configured to supply a data voltage to the pixel;
• a timing controller configured to control the data driving circuit;
• a first integrated circuit configured to generate a first digital value based on a signal sensed by the first light-receiving element;
• a second integrated circuit configured to control the second light-emitting element to emit light, and generate a second digital value based on a signal sensed by the second light-receiving element in response to reflected light from the emitted light;
• and
• a processor configured to sense a first light intensity over time based on the first digital value, and sense a second light intensity over the time based on the second digital value.

A driving method for an electronic device including a memory storing an application and a processor configured to execute the application, the driving method comprising:

• sensing, by the processor, a first light intensity over time at a first body part on a first side of a user on one surface of the electronic device, to generate first light intensities;
• sensing, by the processor, a second light intensity over time at a second body part on a second side of the user on another surface of the electronic device, to generate second light intensities;
• and
• generating, by the processor, bio-signal sensing data for the user based on a difference between the first and second light intensities over time.
