Abstract
The disclosed method may include capturing a light reflected from a skin and detecting a polarized light signal from the captured reflected light. The method may also include analyzing the detected polarized light signal, detecting a specular light component and/or a diffused light component from the polarized light signal, and determining a biometric measurement based on the analyzing the specular light component and/or the diffused light component. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.
Claims20
A device comprising:
- an optical sensor comprising a polarizer, wherein the optical sensor is configured to:
- capture a polarized light from a skin;
- detect a diffused light component from the captured polarized light using the polarizer;
- and
- perform a biometric measurement based on the detected diffused light component.
A system comprising:
- a polarized light source configured to provide linearly polarized light or circularly polarized light to a skin;
- and
- an optical sensor comprising a polarizer, wherein the optical sensor is configured to:
- capture a polarized light from the skin;
- detect a diffused light component from the captured polarized light using the polarizer;
- and
- perform a biometric measurement based on the detected diffused light component.
A method comprising:
- capturing a light reflected from a skin;
- detecting a polarized light signal from the captured reflected light;
- analyzing the detected polarized light signal;
- and
- determining a biometric measurement based on the analysis.
