An applicator device for applying a flavoring solution to a cigarette, including, a housing, a nozzle, and a dispensing arrangement. The housing including a main housing body and a moveable housing portion for receiving a cigarette, the housing portion slidably mounted to the housing body and moveable along an axis between open and closed positions. A nozzle arranged in the housing body and including an outlet configured to dispense a flavoring solution onto a cigarette positioned on the housing portion and a solution flow path fluidly connectable to a flavoring solution reservoir and the nozzle for conveying a flavoring solution to the nozzle outlet. A dispensing arrangement actuatable to convey and dispense a flavoring solution along the solution flow path to the nozzle outlet, such that the dispensing arrangement is actuated to dispense a flavoring solution from the nozzle during movement of the housing portion along the axis.
