Abstract

An aerosol-generating device configured to receive a rod-shaped aerosol-generating article is provided, the aerosol-generating article having a plurality of perforations arranged in a side wall of the aerosol-generating article, the aerosol-generating device including: a housing defining a device cavity at a mouth end of the aerosol-generating device having a central longitudinal axis, wherein the device cavity is configured to at least partially receive the aerosol-generating article; a moveable collar member extending axially at least partially around the central longitudinal axis from the device cavity at the mouth end of the aerosol-generating device; and an actuator engaged with the moveable collar member, the moveable collar member being selectively moveable relative to the central longitudinal axis from a first position, in which the plurality of perforations are uncovered, to a second position in which at least some of the plurality of perforations are covered by the collar member.
