The invention relates to a filter element for a water pipe in the form of a bong or shisha, wherein the filter element is arranged in the flow path between an assembly for receiving the material to be smoked and a water vessel, i.e., in the case of a bong between the bowl and the tube of the chillum, and in the case of a shisha, between the tobacco receptacle and the smoke tube. The object of the invention is to make available a filter element of this kind which is designed in an ecologically sustainable manner as a disposable product, is easy to handle and permits a large number of separate, successive smoking sessions. This object is achieved in that the filter element is designed as a hollow cylindrical main body (1) with an open end face (4) and with a partially closed end face (5) and wherein the main body (1), with respect to its central longitudinal axis (MLA), has in the axial direction two sections (2; 3) having mutually different diameters, in each case with specifically designed contour sections.
A filter element for a water pipe in the form of a bong or shisha, wherein the filter element is arranged in the flow path between an assembly for receiving the material to be smoked and a water vessel, in the case of a bong between the bowl and the tube of the chillum, and in the case of a shisha, between the tobacco receptacle and the smoke tube, the filter element comprising a hollow cylindrical main body having an open end face and a partially closed end face, wherein the main body has, with respect to its central longitudinal axis (MLA), two sections having different diameters relative to one another, wherein starting from the open end face, a first section is formed, the outer diameter of which runs with a continuously constant size and parallel to the central longitudinal axis and the inner diameter of which, starting from the open end face, initially extends conically over a first region having a diameter which decreases continuously in the axial direction, and then runs over a second region having a continuously constant diameter parallel to the central longitudinal axis, wherein the first section of the main body merges into the second section having a smaller outer diameter and having a smaller inner diameter, the outer diameter of which, starting from the transition region between the first section and the second section, runs conically and decreases continuously in the axial direction and the inner diameter of which, starting from the transition region between the first section and the second section, is continuously constant and runs over the entire region parallel to the central longitudinal axis, wherein, in the transition region between the first section and the second section of the main body, an oblique circumferential contour is formed on the outer diameter, which contour runs at an acute angle to the central longitudinal axis, and wherein, in the transition region between the first section and the second section of the main body, a web-like circumferential contour is formed on the inner diameter, which contour runs at a right angle to the central longitudinal axis.
