Abstract
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for treatment of animals. One of the methods includes detecting, using a captured image of an animal, (i) one or more target areas on a body of the animal and (ii) one or more exclusion areas on the body of the animal; configuring a projection area that (i) allows light to project onto the one or more target areas and (ii) prevents light from projecting onto the one or more exclusion areas; and projecting, using the projection area, light onto the body of the animal.

A method comprising:
- detecting, using a captured image of an animal, (i) one or more target areas that are occupied by one or more tracked ectoparasites on a body of the animal and (ii) one or more exclusion areas on the body of the animal;
- generating a mask based on the detected one or more target areas that are occupied by the one or more tracked ectoparasites that (i) allows light to project onto the one or more target areas and (ii) prevents light from projecting onto the one or more exclusion areas;
- and
- projecting, using the mask, light onto the body of the animal.

One or more non-transitory computer storage media encoded with computer program instructions that when executed by one or more computers cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising
- detecting, using a captured image of an animal, (i) one or more target areas that are occupied by one or more tracked ectoparasites on a body of the animal and (ii) one or more exclusion areas on the body of the animal;
- generating a mask based on the detected one or more target areas that are occupied by the one or more tracked ectoparasites that (i) allows light to project onto the one or more target areas and (ii) prevents light from projecting onto the one or more exclusion areas;
- and
- projecting, using the mask, light onto the body of the animal.
A system comprising:
- one or more computers and one or more storage devices on which are stored instructions that are operable, when executed by the one or more computers, to cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:
- detecting, using a captured image of an animal, (i) one or more target areas that are occupied by one or more tracked ectoparasites on a body of the animal and (ii) one or more exclusion areas on the body of the animal;
- generating a mask based on the detected one or more target areas that are occupied by the one or more tracked ectoparasites that (i) allows light to project onto the one or more target areas and (ii) prevents light from projecting onto the one or more exclusion areas;
- and
- projecting, using the mask, light onto the body of the animal.
