The present invention concerns a method for reducing stress-related behavior in domestic animals housed in an animal housing (10) such as a pen or a stall, wherein the following steps are performed:—producing at least one mist (15) of a composition comprising pheromones capable of appeasing said domestic animals, the at least one mist (15) comprising droplets having a mean diameter less than 50 μm, and preferentially comprised between 5 and 10 μm,—said at least one mist (15) being directed toward at least one direction to cover at least one area of said animal housing (10) and said mist (15) or at least one of said mists being emitted from a minimum emission height relative to the floor (12) of said animal housing (10) enabling said at least one mist (15) to reach the face of each of said domestic animals, whatever its posture.
