Abstract
A felling wedge includes a base body (10), at least one engagement mechanism (11) configured to engage a tree to be felled and to fix the base body (10) relative to the tree, a pressure wedge body (20) movable relative to the base body (10), and a drive unit (40) configured to move the pressure wedge body (20) relative to the base body (10). The felling wedge (1) includes a lubricant tank (60) fixed relative to the base body (10). Lubricant (61) is conveyable from the lubricant tank (60) to the pressure wedge body (20).

A felling wedge, comprising:
- a base body (10);
- at least one engagement mechanism (11) configured to engage a tree to be felled and to fix the base body (10) relative to the tree;
- a pressure wedge body (20) movable relative to the base body (10);
- a drive unit (40) configured to move the pressure wedge body (20) relative to the base body (10);
- and
- a lubricant tank (60) fixed to the base body (10),
- wherein lubricant (61) is conveyable from the lubricant tank (60) to the pressure wedge body (20).
A method of operating a felling wedge,
- the felling wedge (1) comprising a base body (10), at least one engagement mechanism (11), a pressure wedge body (20) movable relative to the base body (10), a drive unit (40), and a lubricant tank (60) fixed to the base body (10),
- the method comprising:
- engaging, by the at least one engagement mechanism (11), a tree to be felled to fix the base body (10) relative to the tree;
- moving, by the drive unit (40), the pressure wedge body (20) relative to the base body (10);
- and
- conveying lubricant (61) from the lubricant tank (60) to the pressure wedge body (20).
