Abstract
A light emitting element includes a first semiconductor layer, an light emitting layer disposed on one side of the first semiconductor layer, a second semiconductor layer disposed on one side of the light emitting layer, and a light shielding layer disposed to surround a side surface of the light emitting layer and including a black material.

A light emitting element comprising:
- a first semiconductor layer;
- a second semiconductor layer disposed on one side of the first semiconductor layer;
- a light emitting layer disposed between the first semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer;
- and
- a light shielding layer enclosing at least a portion of a side surface of the light emitting layer and including a light absorbing material.
