Abstract

Disclosed is a cooking apparatus in which the power of a load can be measured using a resonance current obtained by performing current conversion on a driving current supplied to the load. The cooking apparatus includes: a heating coil; a drive circuit for supplying a driving current to the heating coil according to a switching operation and outputting a resonance current and a resonance voltage obtained by performing current conversion on the driving current; a current measurement circuit for measuring the average input current of the heating coil using the resonance current and the resonance voltage; and a controller for measuring the power of the heating coil using the average input current, determining the switching frequency of the drive circuit on the basis of the measured power, and controlling the switching operation on the basis of the switching frequency.

Dependent claims

A cooking appliance comprising:

a heating coil for heating a container using electromagnetic induction;
a driving circuit configured to supply a driving current to the heating coil according to switching operation thereof, and to output a resonant current obtained via current conversion of the driving current, and a resonant voltage based on the driving current;
a current measurement circuit configured to measure an average input current of the heating coil using the resonant current and the resonant voltage;
and
a controller configured to measure power of the heating coil using the average input current, determine a switching frequency of the driving circuit based on the measured power, and control the switching operation based on the switching frequency.
