Abstract
A method for decoding encoded blocks of pixels from an encoded video bit stream is provided that includes decoding a block vector corresponding to an encoded block of pixels from the encoded bit stream, verifying that the block vector indicates a block of reconstructed pixels in a search area including reconstructed pixels of a largest coding unit (LCU) including the encoded block of pixels and N left neighboring reconstructed LCUs of the LCU, and decoding the encoded block of pixels, wherein the block of reconstructed pixels is used as a predictor for the encoded block of pixels.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- initiating an encoding of a video sequence to produce an encoded video sequence, wherein the encoding of the video sequence includes:
- encoding a first flag indicating intrablock copy mode for a first coding block in the video sequence;
- determining a predicted block vector for the first coding block in the intrablock copy mode, wherein the predicted block vector indicates a predicted coding block;
- and
- adding a residual coding block to the predicted coding block in the intrablock copy mode;
- distributing the encoded video sequence over a communication channel;
- and
- causing a decoding of the encoded video sequence in a decoder device, wherein the causing comprises receiving the encoded video sequence by the decoder device.
A method comprising:
- initiating an encoding of a video sequence to produce an encoded video sequence, wherein the encoding of the video sequence includes:
- encoding a first flag indicating intrablock copy mode for a first coding block in the video sequence;
- determining a predicted block vector for the first coding block in the intrablock copy mode, wherein the predicted block vector indicates a predicted coding block;
- and
- adding a residual coding block to the predicted coding block in the intrablock copy mode;
- distributing the encoded video sequence over a communication channel;
- receiving the encoded video sequence by a decoder device;
- and
- causing the video sequence to be displayed.
A method comprising:
- initiating an encoding of a video sequence to produce an encoded video sequence, wherein the encoding of the video sequence includes:
- encoding a first flag indicating intrablock copy mode for a first coding block in the video sequence;
- determining a predicted block vector for the first coding block in the intrablock copy mode, wherein the predicted block vector indicates a predicted coding block;
- and
- adding a residual coding block to the predicted coding block in the intrablock copy mode;
- causing a distribution of the encoded video sequence over a communication channel;
- and
- receiving the encoded video sequence by a decoder device.
