Abstract
A method executed by a computing device includes selecting a contingency-action token (CAT) of an object distributed ledger that meets minimum CAT requirements. The method further includes determining to select the CAT based on an evaluation of the CAT with regards to an evaluation profile. When selecting the CAT the method further includes facilitating taking control of the selected CAT of a blockchain of the object distributed ledger and updating the selected CAT utilizing the secure exchange posting information for the CAT to produce an updated CAT. The method further includes causing generation of a new block affiliated with the updated CAT via another blockchain of another object distributed ledger for a secure exchange, where the new block includes the updated CAT.
Claims2
A computer-implemented security method of using a computing system for utilizing an object distributed ledger structure, the method comprising:
- issuing, by a computing device of the computing system comprising a blockchain node with a peer-to-peer networking interface, a processing module implementing an append-only blockchain with a Merkle-tree state, and a cryptographic engine, a contingency-action token (CAT) access request to an object distributed ledger computing device of the computing system serving as another blockchain node of an object distributed ledger, wherein the CAT access request includes a representation of minimum CAT requirements that includes:
- a recovered cryptographic token value matching a calculated cryptographic token value computed over CAT
- content, a nonce, a chain identifier, and a previous block hash, an obligation provider identifier record of the CAT that includes one or more of an original obligation provider identifier (ID) of the CAT when the CAT was initially generated and an annuity provided obligation provider ID, wherein a set of identifiers of the obligation provider identifier record are associated with providing of an obligation tied to an obligation recipient identifier in accordance with obligation requirements, wherein a positive obligation status indicates that the obligation has historically been provided in accordance with the obligation requirements, wherein the annuity provided obligation provider ID is associated with an annuity instrument to provide at least some of the obligation,
- an outcome recipient identifier record of the CAT that includes one or more of an original outcome recipient identifier of the CAT when the CAT was initially generated and a secondary outcome recipient ID, wherein a set of identifiers of the outcome recipient identifier record are associated with a result of a triggered outcome tied to an outcome provider identifier in accordance with contingent outcome rules and the positive obligation status, wherein a contingency status indicates whether the triggered outcome has been triggered for a contingency entity identifier in accordance with the contingent outcome rules, and
- an availability status of the CAT for a longevity-contingent instrument;
- extracting, by the computing device from a CAT access response, a CAT identifier and a Merkle proof of inclusion of a CAT state committed in a block at a block height having at least a threshold number of confirmations;
- verifying, by the cryptographic engine, that the recovered cryptographic token value matches a recomputed digest over CAT content, the nonce, the chain identifier, and the previous block hash, and validating a digital signature bound to the CAT using a corresponding public key;
- verifying, by the computing device executing a deterministic CAT state-transition function, that the availability status indicates at least one of a life insurance investment type and a life settlement investment type;
- determining, by the computing device, to select the CAT for inclusion on a secure exchange based on an evaluation profile requiring a defined evaluation performance improvement level including:
- comparing obligation provision for a recorded obligation provider identifier versus a hypothetical obligation provider identifier to produce an obligation evaluation;
- comparing estimated triggered outcomes for the recorded versus hypothetical obligation provider identifiers to produce an outcome evaluation;
- and
- selecting the CAT when both evaluations meet the required performance improvement level;
- upon selection, facilitating, by the computing device, taking control over the selected CAT on the object distributed ledger by:
- obtaining a copy of the object distributed ledger up to a finalized height with at least a threshold number of confirmations,
- computing a transaction digest over CAT content, a nonce, a chain identifier, and a previous block hash, encrypting at least a portion of the CAT content with a receiving public key,
- signing the transaction digest with a private key of the computing device,
- generating a next block including the CAT content, an on-ledger lock of the CAT state with a unique cross-ledger identifier and a replay-protected nonce, and a Merkle root committing the CAT state, and
- causing inclusion of the next block in the object distributed ledger;
- updating, by the computing device executing the deterministic CAT state-transition function, the selected CAT utilizing secure exchange posting information to produce an updated CAT that maintains the on-ledger lock and cross-ledger identifier;
- and
- causing, by the computing device, generation of a new block affiliated with the updated CAT via another blockchain of another object distributed ledger associated with the secure exchange by:
- obtaining a copy of the other object distributed ledger,
- computing and signing a second transaction digest over the updated CAT content including the cross-ledger identifier and a nonce,
- generating the new block for the other blockchain of the other object distributed ledger to include the content of the updated CAT and a proof anchoring the first ledger's locked state, and
- causing inclusion of the new block in the other object distributed ledger and atomically releasing the lock on the object distributed ledger upon detection of a threshold number of confirmations on the other object distributed ledger to enforce atomic cross-ledger transfer using a replay-protected bridge condition or a hash time-locked condition that prevents replay and double-spend across the ledgers and provides tamper-evident custody of the CAT with end-to-end cryptographic verification and confirmed finality within a bounded time window.
