Abstract
A communication system includes a plurality of repeater devices arranged at a plurality of different locations. A first repeater device of the plurality of repeater devices obtains radio frequency (RF) and communicates the RF signal of a specified frequency to a second repeater device. The second repeater device extracts a plurality of different RF signals, corresponding to different communication protocols, from the RF signal and down-converts the extracted plurality of different RF signals. The second repeater device wirelessly distributes, from the RF signal, two or more different RF signals to end-user devices, and transmits signals from end-user devices upstream to the communication device via the first repeater device.
Claims20
A communication system, comprising:
- a communication device;
- and
- a plurality of repeater devices arranged at a plurality of different locations, wherein
- the communication device is communicatively coupled to a first repeater device of the plurality of repeater devices,
- the first repeater device is communicatively coupled to a second repeater device of the plurality of repeater devices,
- the first repeater device is configured to:
- obtain a radio frequency (RF) signal from the communication device;
- and
- communicate, the RF signal to the second repeater device of the plurality of repeater devices, and
- the second repeater device is configured to:
- extract a plurality of different RF signals, corresponding to different communication protocols, from the RF signal;
- wirelessly distribute the plurality of different RF signals to a plurality of end-user devices;
- receive signals from the plurality of end-user devices;
- and
- transmit the signals upstream to the communication device via the first repeater device.
A method for communication, the method comprising:
- in a communication system comprising a communication device, and a plurality of repeater devices arranged at a plurality of different locations, wherein the communication device is communicatively coupled to a first repeater device of the plurality of repeater devices, and the first repeater device is communicatively coupled to a second repeater device of the plurality of repeater devices:
- obtaining, by the first repeater device, a radio frequency (RF) signal from the communication device;
- communicating, by the first repeater device, the RF signal to the second repeater device of the plurality of repeater devices;
- extracting, by the second repeater device, a plurality of different RF signals, corresponding to different communication protocols, from the RF signal;
- wirelessly distributing, by the second repeater device, the plurality of different RF signals to a plurality of end-user devices;
- receiving, by the second repeater device, signals from the plurality of end-user devices;
- and
- transmitting, by the second repeater device, the signals upstream to the communication device via the first repeater device.
