Integrated common-mode filter core for open-ended winding electric motor

Abstract

Technologies for an integrated common-mode filter include an electric machine having a stator core coupled to multiple stator windings in an open-end winding configuration. The stator windings extend through one or more common-mode filter cores. The stator core extends between two ends, and a common-mode filter core may be coupled to one or both ends of the stator core, or a common-mode filter core may be coupled between stator cores. The common-mode filter core may be formed from a soft magnetic material. The common mode filter core includes multiple arcuate inner core segments surrounding a central opening, multiple arcuate outer core segments surrounding the inner core segments, and multiple radial arms connecting the inner core segments and the outer core segments. Slots are defined between the radial arms, and the slots receive stator windings. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
