Abstract
An electrical machine includes a stator with a stator body supporting an electrical stator and a rotor, the rotor being supported by a bearing having a radial bearing section forming a radial gas bearing and an axial bearing section forming an axial gas bearing. The stator side parts of these bearing sections including an axial bearing assembly and a bushing. The bushing is radially surrounded by the stator body. A coolant gap is present between the bushing and the stator body. The coolant gap preferably extends around the entire circumference of the bushing. A fluid coolant medium is present in the coolant gap.
