Aspects of the disclosure are directed to managing battery passport information related to a management history of a battery through more efficient transmission of the battery passport information.

An electronic device comprising:
- a communication circuit configured to communicate with a communication module of a battery unit;
- and
- a processor configured to:
- receive battery identification information regarding the battery unit from the communication module;
- receive a request from a user;
- and
- in response to receiving the request from the user, request, from a server, at least a part of battery passport information related to a management history of the battery unit, based on user information related to the user and the battery identification information.

The electronic device of claim 12, wherein the communication module comprises a near field communication (NFC) module.
A battery pack comprising:
- a battery unit comprising a communication module;
- and
- a battery management apparatus communicating with the communication module;
- wherein the communication module comprises a processor configured to:
- communicate with an electronic device independently of an operating state of the battery management apparatus;
- receive battery information regarding the battery unit from the battery management apparatus;
- and
- transmit the battery information and battery identification information regarding the battery unit to the electronic device.

- receiving, by a processor, battery identification information regarding the battery unit from a communication module of a battery unit;
- receiving, by the processor, a request from a user;
