Abstract
A lithium primary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution. The positive electrode includes manganese dioxide, and the negative electrode includes a lithium alloy. The lithium alloy contains magnesium in an amount of 0.02 mass % or more and 11 mass % or less. A ratio N/P of a capacity N of the negative electrode to a capacity P of the positive electrode is 0.85 or more and 1.00 or less.

A lithium primary battery, comprising:
- a positive electrode;
- a negative electrode;
- a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode;
- and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution, wherein
- the positive electrode includes manganese dioxide,
- the negative electrode includes a lithium alloy,
- the lithium alloy contains magnesium in an amount of 0.02 mass % or more and 11 mass % or less, and
- a ratio N/P of a capacity N of the negative electrode to a capacity P of the positive electrode is 0.85 or more and 1.00 or less.
