Abstract

This cylindrical battery includes an electrode body in which a long positive electrode having a positive electrode core body and a positive electrode mixture layer, and a long negative electrode having a negative electrode core body and a negative electrode mixture layer are wound together with a separator interposed therebetween. The positive electrode mixture layer has a thin portion extending from the starting end on the winding start side across a prescribed range in the winding direction, the thickness of the thin portion is less than the thickness of a main portion, which is the portion of the positive electrode mixture layer other than the thin portion, and the adhesion strength of the positive electrode mixture layer to the positive electrode core body is higher in the thin portion than in the main portion.
