Abstract
An insulating cover for a transformer core is described. The insulating cover includes a seat. The seat defines a channel configured to receive a portion of the transformer core. The insulating cover also includes a lid supported by the seat. The lid is configured to overlay the channel when positioned on the seat. The insulating cover is configured to enclose the portion of the transformer core within the channel.
Claims20
An insulating cover for a transformer core, the insulating cover comprising:
- a seat, the seat defining a channel configured to receive a portion of the transformer core;
- and
- a lid supported by the seat, the lid configured to overlay the channel when positioned on the seat;
- and
- wherein the insulating cover is configured to enclose the portion of the transformer core within channel.
A transformer assembly comprising:
- a transformer core;
- and
- an insulating cover overlaying a portion of the transformer core, the insulating cover comprising:
- a seat, the seat defining a channel configured to receive the portion of the transformer core, and
- a lid supported by the seat, the lid configured to overlay the channel when positioned on the seat;
- and
- wherein the insulating cover is configured to enclose the portion of the transformer core within the channel.
A method of locating a transformer core in an insulating cover, the insulating cover comprising a seat defining a channel configured to receive a portion of the transformer core and a lid supported by the seat, the seat comprising movable arms separated by a distance, the lid is configured to overlay the channel when placed on the seat, the method comprising:
- locating the transformer core in the channel defined by the seat;
- and
- locating the lid on the seat.
