Abstract

A magnetic granular material includes laminated flake-shaped rare earth magnetic powder particles and has a thickness of 0.15 mm or more in a lamination direction. Each rare earth magnetic powder particle has a major-axis length of 300 μm or more, and an average thickness of the rare earth magnetic powder particles is 10 μm to 30 μm. A manufacturing method of the magnetic granular material includes binding the rare earth magnetic powder particles to obtain the magnetic granular material. A manufacturing method of a rare earth magnet includes forming an insulating layer on each magnetic granular material to obtain insulated magnetic granular materials, arranging the insulated magnetic granular materials so as to be laminated to obtain a primary molded product, and performing hot plastic working on the primary molded product to obtain the rare earth magnet.
