Electrical feedthrough assembly with augmented creepage distance

An electrical feedthrough assembly, comprising:

• at least two pins;
• an insulating material;
• and
• a base body including a first side, a second side, and at least two through-holes, the at least two pins being arranged respectively within the at least two through-holes, the at least two pins being electrically isolated from the base body and sealed in the at least two through-holes by the insulating material such that at least two feedthroughs are formed, a coefficient of thermal expansion of the insulating material being smaller than a coefficient of thermal expansion of the base body such that the at least two feedthroughs are at least two compression seal feedthroughs, at least one of the at least two through-holes being configured as a stepped through-hole including at least one surface portion and a middle portion, the at least one surface portion being adjacent to the first side or the second side of the base body, the at least one surface portion including a first diameter, the middle portion including a second diameter which is smaller than the first diameter, the insulating material being present in both the middle portion and the at least one surface portion, a distance between the at least two pins being between a center point of one of the at least two pins and a center point of another of the at least two pins and being in a range of at least 1.2 times and at most 1.6 times of the second diameter of the middle portion.

An electrical compressor, comprising:

• an electrical feedthrough assembly, including:
• at least two pins;
• an insulating material;
• and
• a base body including a first side, a second side, and at least two through-holes, the at least two pins being arranged respectively within the at least two through-holes, the at least two pins being electrically isolated from the base body and sealed in the at least two through-holes by the insulating material such that at least two feedthroughs are formed, a coefficient of thermal expansion of the insulating material being smaller than a coefficient of thermal expansion of the base body such that the at least two feedthroughs are at least two compression seal feedthroughs, at least one of the at least two through-holes being configured as a stepped through-hole including at least one surface portion and a middle portion, the at least one surface portion being adjacent to the first side or the second side of the base body, the at least one surface portion including a first diameter, the middle portion including a second diameter which is smaller than the first diameter, the insulating material being present in both the middle portion and the at least one surface portion, a distance between the at least two pins being between a center point of one of the at least two pins and a center point of another of the at least two pins and being in a range of at least 1.2 times and at most 1.6 times of the second diameter of the middle portion.
