Abstract
A display device and a method for operating the display device are presented herein. The display device includes a display panel having an arrangement of a plurality of pixels, a gate driver configured to apply a scan signal to a first pixel of the plurality of pixels, a data driver configured to apply a data voltage to the first pixel, a power supply unit configured to apply a reference voltage to the first pixel, and a timing controller configured to control an operation of the data driver and the power supply unit. The reference voltage may be varied based on at least one among an driving mode of the display panel, a degree of deterioration of the first pixel, and a driving frequency of the first pixel.

A display device, comprising:
- a display panel having an arrangement of a plurality of pixels;
- a gate driver configured to apply a scan signal to a first pixel of the plurality of pixels;
- a data driver configured to apply a data voltage to the first pixel;
- a power supply unit configured to apply a reference voltage to the first pixel;
- and
- a timing controller configured to control an operation of the data driver and the power supply unit,
- wherein the reference voltage is varied based on at least one among a driving mode of the display device, a degree of deterioration of the first pixel, and a driving frequency of the first pixel.
A display device, comprising:
- a display panel having an arrangement of a plurality of pixels, a first pixel of the plurality of pixels including:
- a light emitting element configured to emit light,
- a driving transistor having a gate electrode connected to a first node, the driving transistor connected to the light emitting element through a second node;
- a first transistor having a first electrode connected to a data line, a second electrode connected to the first node and a gate electrode connected to a first gate line, and
- a second transistor having a first electrode connected to a reference voltage line, a second electrode connected to the second node and a gate electrode connected to a second gate line;
- a gate driver configured to provide a first scan signal to the first gate line and a second scan signal to the second gate line;
- a data driver configured to provide a data voltage to the data line;
- a power supply unit configured to provide a reference voltage to the reference voltage line;
- and
- a timing controller configured to control an operation of the data driver and the power supply unit,
- wherein the timing controller controls the power supply unit to vary the reference voltage based on at least one among a driving mode of the display device, a degree of deterioration of the first pixel, and a driving frequency of the first pixel.
