Embodiments relates to a display device and a method of driving a display device, and the display device includes a display panel on which pixels are disposed, a gate driving circuit configured to apply a gate signal to the pixels through a gate line, a data driving circuit configured to convert image data and apply the converted image data to the pixels through a data line, and convert sensing signals output from the pixels through a readout line into sensing data and output the sensing data, and a timing controller configured to control an output of the image data based on a sensing value of the sensing data, wherein the timing controller increases an output period of the image data on a frame-by-frame basis when the sensing value is greater than or equal to a preset threshold value.
