Abstract
A wearable device includes a first radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag, a second RFID tag, one or more feedback devices configured to provide feedback to a guest, and a microcontroller. The microcontroller is configured to generate a first control signal that causes a first type of feedback via the one or more feedback devices in response to interaction between electromagnetic radiation having a first frequency and the first RFID tag and to generate a second control signal that causes a second type of feedback via the one or more feedback devices in response to interaction between electromagnetic radiation having a second frequency and the second RFID tag.
Claims20
A portable device, comprising:
- a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag;
- one or more feedback devices configured to provide feedback to a user;
- and
- a microcontroller configured to control the one or more feedback devices to provide a feedback response based on data written to a memory of the RFID tag, wherein the data is indicative of an interaction between a different portable device associated with a same team as the portable device and an interactive element within an attraction.
A system comprising:
- a plurality of portable devices associated with a team, wherein each portable device of the plurality of portable devices comprises a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag and one or more feedback devices;
- a reader associated with an interactive element and configured to transmit electromagnetic radiation within a frequency range;
- and
- a computing system configured to:
- receive a signal from the reader that indicates an interaction between a first portable device of the plurality of portable devices and the interactive element;
- determine that the first portable device is associated with the team;
- identify at least one additional portable device of the plurality of portable devices that are associated with the team;
- and
- cause the one or more feedback devices of the at least one additional portable device of the plurality of portable devices to provide a feedback response based on the interaction between the first portable device and the interactive element.
A method comprising:
- receiving, at one or more processors and from a reader associated with an interactive element in an attraction, an indication of identification information stored in a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag of a first portable device carried by a first user;
- determining, using the one or more processors and based on receiving the indication of the identification information, an interaction between the first portable device and the interactive element in the attraction;
- determining, using the one or more processors, that the first portable device is associated with a team;
- identifying, using the one or more processors, one or more additional portable devices associated with the team;
- and
- instructing, using the one or more processors and based on the interaction between the first portable device and the interactive element in the attraction, one or more feedback devices of the one or more additional portable devices to provide a feedback response.
