Abstract
A game monitoring system captures images of a game table and identifies objects relevant to the game and identifies values associated with objects. During the course of the game, the system can detect a violation of the players’ bets according to pre-configured game rules. At the end of each game, the system can determine the outcome of the game (e.g., the win/lose/push on each bet) and can determine whether the dealer's action (e.g., payout on each bet) is consistent with the system’s judgment. If an inconsistent action is detected, the system can notify the dealer/supervisor about a potential mistake.
Claims20
A game monitoring system comprising:
- a housing carrying at least one processor;
- a memory;
- at least one camera configured to capture images of a gaming table on which a game is played, wherein the at least one camera is positioned outside of the housing and communicates the images to the at least one processor via at least one of a wireless communication interface or a physical input/output port;
- a display device;
- and
- the at least one processor configured to:
- receive, via the at least one of the wireless communication interface or the physical input/output port, images captured by the at least one camera of game objects and chips on the gaming table;
- use artificial intelligence to analyze the received images to determine an area of interest on the gaming table and automatically adjust focus of the at least one camera on the area of interest;
- analyze the received images to determine an outcome of the game based on game rules stored in the memory;
- cause the display device to display, as an assistance to a human dealer at the gaming table, a notification regarding the outcome of the game;
- and
- store the received images in the memory according to an intelligent storage algorithm in which a retention time of any given image is based on a use of that image.
A method for monitoring a game, the method comprising:
- receiving, at a processor carried by a housing, images from at least one camera positioned outside of the housing via at least one of a wireless communication interface or a physical input/output port, the images being of a gaming table on which the game is played;
- using artificial intelligence executed by the processor to analyze the received images to determine an area of interest on the gaming table and automatically adjusting focus of the at least one camera on the area of interest;
- analyzing, by the processor, the received images of game objects and chips on the gaming table to determine an outcome of the game based on game rules stored in a memory;
- displaying, on a display device, a notification regarding the outcome of the game as an assistance to a human dealer at the gaming table;
- and
- storing the received images in the memory according to an intelligent storage algorithm in which a retention time of any given image is based on a use of that image.
A game monitoring system comprising:
- a first device comprising a housing carrying at least one processor and a memory;
- at least one camera positioned outside of the housing and connected with the at least one processor via at least one of a wireless communication interface or a physical input/output port;
- a display device;
- a computing device separate from the first device and configured to communicate with the at least one processor via a network connection to provide at least one of a training result file or game rules;
- and
- wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
- receive images captured by the at least one camera of game objects and chips on a gaming table on which a game is played;
- use artificial intelligence to determine an area of interest on the gaming table and automatically adjust focus of the at least one camera on the area of interest;
- analyze the received images to determine an outcome of the game based on the game rules stored in the memory;
- cause the display device to display a notification regarding the outcome of the game as an assistance to a human dealer at the gaming table;
- and
- store the received images in the memory according to an intelligent storage algorithm in which a retention time of any given image is based on a use of that image, wherein the intelligent storage algorithm categorizes images into at least a long-term storage, a medium-term storage, and a short-term storage based on whether an image generated a notification, was used for game judgment, or neither.
