A system, method, and computer-readable medium for authenticating coins using acoustic analysis and artificial intelligence. An acoustic signal acquisition module captures an acoustic signal generated when a coin is struck against a striking surface. A signal processing module generates a time-frequency spectrogram from the captured signal by applying a Short-Time Fourier Transform. A convolutional neural network trained on spectrogram images of known genuine and counterfeit coins extracts a feature vector from the spectrogram, and a machine learning classifier classifies the coin as genuine or counterfeit based on the extracted feature vector. Dynamic Time Warping alignment compensates for variations in striking conditions by aligning the test signal against a genuine reference signal and computing a deviation percentage score. A Peltier thermoelectric element applies a controlled thermal gradient to the coin and a temperature sensor measures the rate of heat transfer to provide supplementary thermal conductivity authentication.
