Abstract
Aspects of the present invention relate to methods and systems for the see-through computer display systems with an extended field of view.
Claims20
A head-worn see-through display, comprising:
- a display having a field of view having an edge region corresponding to an edge of the field of view and a center region corresponding to a center of the field of view;
- an eye-tracking system to determine a position of an eye of a user of the head-worn see-through display;
- and
- a processor adapted to present image content to the user via the display, wherein presenting the image content comprises:
- in accordance with a determination that presenting the image content comprises presenting the image content in the center region of the field of view and that the image content comprises world-locked content, presenting the image content with a first visibility;
- predicting when the image content is going to approach the edge region of the field of view based on the position of the eye of the user;
- and
- transitioning a visibility of the image content to a second visibility based on the prediction the that the image content will approach the edge region of the field of view, wherein the second visibility has a diminished appearance compared to the first visibility.

A method comprising:
- presenting image content to a user of a head-worn see-through display via a display of the head-worn see-through display concurrently with presenting a view of the environment of the user, wherein the display comprises an edge region corresponding to an edge of a field of view and a center region corresponding to a center of the field of view;
- determining a position of an eye of a user;
- in accordance with a determination that presenting the image content comprises presenting the image content in the center region of the field of view and that the image content comprises world-locked content, presenting the image content with a first visibility;
- predicting when the image content is going to approach the edge region of the field of view based on the position of the eye of the user;
- and
- transitioning a visibility of the image content to a second visibility based on the prediction the that the image content will approach the edge region of the field of view,
- wherein the second visibility has a diminished appearance compared to the first visibility.
4 more elements
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform a method comprising:
- presenting image content to a user of a head-worn see-through display via a display of the head-worn see-through display concurrently with presenting a view of the environment of the user, wherein the display comprises an edge region corresponding to an edge of a field of view and a center region corresponding to a center of the field of view;
- determining a position of an eye of a user;
- in accordance with a determination that presenting the image content comprises presenting the image content in the center region of the field of view and that the image content comprises world-locked content, presenting the image content with a first visibility;
- predicting when the image content is going to approach the edge region of the field of view based on the position of the eye of the user;
- and
- transitioning a visibility of the image content to a second visibility based on the prediction the that the image content will approach the edge region of the field of view,
- wherein the second visibility has a diminished appearance compared to the first visibility.
