Abstract
An electronic device including an input device and a display, wherein the display is operable to show an enter password screen showing a randomly assigned set of inputs corresponding to a predefined set of password symbols, where the display is operable to show the randomly assigned predefined set of inputs adjacent to the predefined set of password symbols, and the assigned set of inputs correspond to the set of password symbols until the password entry is reinitiated.

An electronic device, comprising:
- an input device;
- and
- a display operable to show an enter password screen showing a randomly assigned set of inputs corresponding to a predefined set of password symbols,
- wherein the display is operable to show the randomly assigned predefined set of inputs adjacent to the predefined set of password symbols, and wherein the assigned set of inputs correspond to the set of password symbols until password entry is reinitiated.

A method of unlocking software functionality, comprising:
- providing an electronic device comprising an input device and a display;
- detecting an input operable to initiate password entry;
- randomly assigning a predefined set of inputs to a predefined set of password symbols, and displaying said randomly assigned predefined set of inputs adjacent to said predefined set of password symbols;
- receiving at least one of said assigned inputs;
- and
- comparing entered password symbols corresponding to said received inputs to a stored password.
