- wherein the attachment component is secured within the receiving space by a mechanical connection;
- wherein an exterior surface of the attachment component is offset from at least one of the first exterior surface portion and the second exterior surface portion;
- wherein the receiving space is defined at least in part by a recessed surface of the rear wall that faces away from the interior space of the body portion, the recessed surface extending between an outer edge and an inner edge;
- wherein the attachment component is seated within the receiving space such that at least a portion of an outer peripheral surface of the attachment component is in contiguous abutment with at least a portion of a perimeter sidewall of the receiving space to restrict lateral movement relative to the body portion;
- at least one magnet retained within the cavity of the attachment component, the at least one magnet having a first face and a second face, wherein, with the attachment component received in the receiving space, the first face of the at least one magnet faces the interior space of the body portion and the second face of the at least one magnet faces the attachment component, wherein the at least one magnet defines an outer periphery that extends in a thickness direction of the at least one magnet between the first face and the second face;
- wherein the cavity of the attachment component is formed at least in part by a curved outer wall, and wherein the outer periphery of the at least one magnet is adjacent to at least a portion of the curved outer wall;
- wherein, with the attachment component received in the receiving space, the cavity faces the interior space of the body portion, wherein the attachment component covers the second face of the at least one magnet;
- wherein the at least one magnet is configured to provide a magnetic attachment force exclusively between the phone case and an external magnetic structure located outside of the phone case to attach the phone case to the external magnetic structure;
- wherein the mechanical connection that secures the attachment component within the receiving space is independent of the magnetic attachment force;
- wherein the attachment component at least partially encloses the at least one magnet.
