Abstract
A book-making apparatus includes a support plate, a booklet producing unit, and a control unit. The support plate supports a sheet bundle comprising a plurality of sheets with an adhesive layer formed of toner. The booklet producing unit produces a booklet by heating and pressing the adhesive layer. The control unit controls the booklet producing unit and includes at least a first bonding mode and a second bonding mode. A void ratio, defined as an area ratio between pores and toner in the adhesive layer, is higher in the adhesive layer processed under the first bonding mode than in the adhesive layer processed under the second bonding mode.
Claims19
A book-making apparatus comprising:
- a support plate configured to accept and support a sheet bundle formed by a plurality of sheets having an adhesive layer formed using toner;
- a booklet producing unit configured to heat the adhesive layer in the sheet bundle and press the adhesive layer in the sheet bundle to produce a booklet;
- and
- a control unit having at least a first bonding mode and a second bonding mode, and configured to control the booklet producing unit,
- wherein a void ratio that is an area ratio between pores and toner contained in the adhesive layer to which the first bonding mode was applied is higher than a void ratio of the adhesive layer to which the second bonding mode was applied.
An image forming apparatus comprising:
- an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet using toner;
- a fixing unit configured to fix the image to the sheet;
- a support plate configured to accept and support a sheet bundle discharged from the fixing unit and formed by a plurality of sheets having an adhesive layer formed using the toner;
- a booklet producing unit configured to heat the adhesive layer in the sheet bundle and press the adhesive layer in the sheet bundle to produce a booklet;
- and
- a control unit having at least a first bonding mode and a second bonding mode, and configured to control the booklet producing unit,
- wherein a void ratio that is an area ratio between pores and toner contained in the adhesive layer to which the first bonding mode was applied is higher than a void ratio of the adhesive layer to which the second bonding mode was applied.
A method for controlling an image forming apparatus, the method comprising:
- accepting and supporting a sheet bundle formed by a plurality of sheets having an adhesive layer formed using toner;
- heating the adhesive layer in the sheet bundle and pressing the adhesive layer in the sheet bundle to produce a booklet;
- and
- controlling a booklet producing process using a first bonding mode or a second bonding mode,
- wherein a void ratio that is an area ratio between pores and toner contained in the adhesive layer to which the first bonding mode was applied is higher than a void ratio of the adhesive layer to which the second bonding mode was applied.
