Abstract

A fixing device includes a first fixing section that has an endless section that rotates, a support section which is disposed to correspond to a fixing region through which a medium passes and which supports the endless section, and a heating section which heats the fixing region to increase a temperature of the fixing region to a fixing temperature determined in advance and a second fixing section that has a facing section which is pressed against the support section with the endless section nipped between the facing section and the support section in the fixing region, in which a groove is formed in a support surface of the support section on a fixing region side along a width direction of the medium.
