Charging device and image forming apparatus

A charging device comprising:

• a discharge electrode;
• and
• a control electrode that is disposed between the discharge electrode and a member to be charged,
• wherein the control electrode is held in a state of being curved along a surface shape of the member to be charged, at least one portion where the control electrode is not pushed to a side away from the member to be charged is present along a lateral direction of the control electrode, and the control electrode further protrudes toward the side away from the member to be charged on a middle side than on end sides in the lateral direction among a plurality of positions where the control electrode is pushed.

A charging device comprising:

• a discharge electrode;
• and
• a control electrode that is disposed between the discharge electrode and a member to be charged and draws out electric charges from the discharge electrode toward the member to be charged,
• wherein the control electrode is held in a state of being curved along a surface shape of the member to be charged and is pushed to a side away from the member to be charged at a plurality of positions along a lateral direction of the control electrode, and a pushing force is stronger on a middle side than on end sides in the lateral direction among the plurality of positions where the control electrode is pushed.
