Cartridge and analyzer for fluid analysis

A method, comprising:

• introducing a first solution into a first fluidic channel coupled to a biological field effect transistor (BioFET) sensor array;
• performing a calibration of the BioFET sensor array in the first solution;
• introducing a sample to the first fluidic channel after performing the calibration of the BioFET sensor array;
• introducing a second solution into a second fluidic channel to mix with the sample and flow to the BioFET sensor array through a third fluidic channel;
• introducing a third solution into the first fluidic channel;
• and
• measuring an output signal from the BioFET sensor array after introducing the third solution.

A method, comprising:

• introducing a first solution through a first inlet into a first fluidic channel to direct the first solution to a biological field effect transistor (BioFET) sensor array;
• measuring a first signal from the BioFET sensor array in the first solution;
• introducing a sample to the first fluidic channel via a sample inlet coupled to the first fluidic channel;
• introducing a second solution through a second inlet into a second fluidic channel to mix with the sample and flow to the BioFET sensor array through a third fluidic channel;
• introducing a third solution through the first inlet into the first fluidic channel to wash the sample away from the BioFET sensor array;
• measuring a second signal from the BioFET sensor array in the third solution;
• and
• comparing the first and second signals to determine the presence of an analyte in the sample.
