The present invention relates to radiographic inspection systems and methods for determining three-dimensional positional information and magnification-compensated dimensional measurements from projection-based stereo radiographic images. A stereo image pair is acquired using a penetrating radiation source and at least one detector, wherein relative lateral displacement between imaging components provides separated perspectives. Inspection geometry parameters, including geometric relationships among the source, object, and detector, are determined using a calibration structure or image-based estimation. Corresponding features between the stereo images are identified and depth location is computed using calibrated disparity. Effective pixel pitch is determined based on feature depth to compensate for geometric magnification, enabling calculation of true physical feature dimensions. The system may generate corrected two-dimensional radiographic images and structured stereo reference overlays for stereo images. Embodiments include stationary source configurations, linear detector array systems, automated defect classification, two-image presentation and inspection decision outputs without requiring volumetric computed tomography reconstruction.
