Abstract
A hybrid sensor device includes a substrate; a first sensing element configured to sense force; a second sensing element configured to sense at least one of light intensity, acoustic impedance, electrical conductivity, electrical permittivity, or temperature; signal processing circuitry configured to receive and process respective output signals of the first and second sensing elements; and decision logic circuitry configured to validate an intent of a user input based on the respective output signals of the first and second force sensors, wherein the first and second sensors, the signal processing circuitry, and the decision logic circuitry are integrated on the substrate.
Claims16
A method of operating a hybrid sensor device comprising:
- receiving respective output signals of a first sensing element and second sensing element with signal processing circuitry of the hybrid sensor device, wherein the hybrid sensor device, comprises:
- a substrate;
- the signal processing circuitry;
- the first sensing element configured to sense an applied force;
- the second sensing element configured to sense at least one of light intensity, acoustic impedance, electrical conductivity, electrical permittivity, or temperature;
- and
- decision logic circuitry, wherein the first and second sensing elements, the signal processing circuitry, and the decision logic circuitry are integrated on the substrate;
- processing the respective output signals with the signal processing circuitry;
- validating, with the decision logic circuitry an intent of a user input based on the respective output signals of the first and second sensing elements, wherein the validating the intent of the user input determines whether the user input was made by a user so that the user input is valid.
