A CPS (chromatic point sensor) measuring apparatus includes a CPS probe acquiring distance information to a workpiece, a main body that moves the probe, and a computer calculating workpiece shape information based on detection signals. The probe has a chromatic aberration lens that converts light passed through an aperture into focused light having axial chromatic aberration to emit toward the workpiece. The probe forms a measurement spot of wavelength depending on the distance on the workpiece, condenses reflected light of the measurement spot with the lens and focuses the reflected light at the aperture to detect it, irradiates illumination light from the light source for observation with the lens to an illumination area on the workpiece, and guides the reflected light to the camera for observation via the lens. The computer displays a mark at a position of the measurement spot on the observation image of the camera.
