Abstract
An exploding foil initiator (EFI) assembly includes: a housing assembly, having a base and a support portion extending axially away from the base; an elastic member configured to compress a leadframe and an explosive pellet; and a retainer cap with a surface that abuts the elastic member, wherein the support portion engages the retainer cap and compresses the elastic member.

An exploding foil initiator (EFI) assembly, comprising:
- a housing assembly, having a base and a support portion extending axially away from the base;
- an elastic member configured to compress a leadframe and an explosive pellet;
- and
- a retainer cap with a surface that abuts the elastic member, wherein the support portion engages the retainer cap and compresses the elastic member.
