A support assembly for a firearm has an organizing tray and a magazine well adapter. The organizing tray includes a planar membrane defining a perimeter with optional perimeter walls. A base block emerging from the planar membrane includes a first wall spanning between the planar membrane and a first surface offset from the planar membrane. A slot cut into the first exterior wall and the first surface of the block defines at least two interior walls spaced apart by a gap, and the magazine well adapter includes a flanged block and a projection extending therefrom, with the magazine well adapter receivable within the slot. The assembly allows a user to mount a firearm to be displayed, inspected, or worked on by inserting the projection into the magazine well of the firearm. Optionally, the tray perimeter wall and the base block may include cavities for holding tools and accessories.

An organizing tray comprising a planar membrane having a perimeter, at least one perimeter wall extending along at least a portion of said perimeter, and a base block located within said perimeter, wherein said base block further comprises a first exterior wall spanning between said planar membrane and a first surface offset from said planar membrane, with a slot cut into said first exterior wall and said first surface, said slot further defining at least two interior walls spaced apart by a gap.
